"NOW I LAY ME DOWN TO SLEEP"
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I pray the Lord my soul to keep;
Bless and watch me through the night,
And wake me with the morning light.
(18th century children's prayer. Version printed in "The New England Primer".)

"NOW I LAY MY SELF-WILL DOWN"
Now I lay my self-will down
And ask dear God, please keep me sound
In body and soul, in spirit and mind
May all these parts become aligned.

"NOW I LAY MY OWN LIFE DOWN"
Now I lay my own life down
To help the lost who now may drown
In that sadness sea that drink creates
My heart your outstretched hand awaits

And find that place inside of Love. Beautiful.
Beautiful beautiful!!!
The first prayer, that's the one my grandma taught me when I was a wee girl.
Reading it brought an amazing feeling of peace and love....
I especially loved the "self-will" poem!
Couldn't get any better than that.
Oh this is goooooood!
Oh this is so sweet! ((((PG))))
wow, great variations!
I just love home-made prayers. I think God loves them too. I can imagine He gets pretty bored hearing the rote prayers over and over. Thanks for sharing your prayers.
