That first picture hurts my lips.
this is very freeing, don't like the first picture though, hit a little too close to home. but i always love your work.
Great twixt of the Steps in there. I hope we can look forward to going all the way to Step 12! Very well done!
dissolved fear. what a relief.
you tease us...and each installment is worth the wait.
Happy 55ing.
Very powerful visually and in words PG.
Blessings.
You are doing such a good job of catching the feelings of a battered woman. That first step is the hardest.
I remember several woman from my parish that I was sure were being abused that I couldn't talk into taking that first step. In one case Her Doctor and I together tried but failed. She killed herself.
The first picture was creepy! But that is probably what abuse feels like.
Oh man great photos to go with the story! Thank goodness she was freed from fear - I really enjoy your 55 stories linked in this way!
Great idea - to make these a series!
Here's my Flash-55:

Ohhh I'm glad her fear is melting! You did a wonderful job with this...
You humans are so hard to understand.
You are always doing things that hurt yourselves.
Well written 55 might help some.
Wow, so powerful and the pictures only made it more so, thank you PG, amazing indeed!
Wow; what a step for Darlene, what a powerful moment to capture in so few words!
But the top picture, I cringed! Tell me those are drawn on! LOL
I'd like to sew some peoples lips together...hehehe...
Thanks for playing, and have a GREAT Week-End...G
Ouch in so many ways. I hope that Darlene has some peace.
There is a place in my life right now where we suspect that the cloying attentions of a husband are actually part of an abusive situation. It is scary stuff up close.
