Interesting how the clothes reflected the state of mind of women, or vice versa, over the different time periods. You never really think about it until someone puts it together like this.

Love this idea. Showing the way of women reflected via clothing styles. Being so fond of Coca Chanel I read her biography and learnt a lot about the style 100 yeras ago and what happen sociopolitical for women during this time. Have a brilliant weekend

I needed to be born back in the Renaissance where big women with double chins were in fashion! I could not wear a corset if someone threatened me or paid me so maybe it's a good thing that I can live in my sweat pants, no bra, and hubbies tshirts these days. (I know...tmi..)

That last number is especially fine at speaker meetings when the speaker is a bit....long-winded?

Agreed! Although I think that ladies fashion has taken a nose-dive too. I'm often way too sloppy... at least not skimpy!

Yup, we sure have.

I think that the 2010 outfit looks bizarre. Just my opinion. I can't imagine anyone wearing that to the social gatherings that I go to. It wouldn't fit at an oyster roast.
