Sunday 10/4/09 - "A FEW IDEAS"

"A FEW IDEAS"

This Saturday night, these are some ideas on my mind.

I read a quote on my home page this morning and as soon as I read it I knew I would blog it:

"This is the miracle that happens every time to those who really love; the more they give, the more they possess." - Rainer Maria Rilke

I discovered the truth of this statement in the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous and Al-Anon. I was freely given everything that I needed to recover by those I met when I entered the programs. I was given love when I had none for myself. I later learned I needed to give away what I received in order to keep it. Then I found also that I not only keep it, but it actually returns back to me multiplied many fold.

At mass this afternoon, we sang the following:

"Where there is love, there is God. The love of God has gathered us together."

The love of God has gathered us together in many places - in the rooms of recovery, AA and Al-Anon, in my church, and in this blog world.

It's time to sign-off.

Have a blessed Sunday.

Thanks PG. I went to an AA workshop yesterday on the Great Paradox of AA, "we have to give it away to keep it" very much in line with what you wrote. I enjoy life today because I give back what was freely given to me.

Your words always radiate so much love. God is all loving and all loving is God. I have missed you so much. It's been a good trip so far...practicing love in all my actions. Wow! It works! Big hugs from CT!
