"LIAR! LIAR!

Remembering the childhood chant:
Liar! Liar! Pants on Fire!

Wonder how many burned butts are hidden
under all those pairs of pants walking around!

Little white lies probably won't mar the spirit in any permanent way.
But those big black lies will twist and cripple the soul.

Liar! Liar! Ask forgiveness from God on Higher!

Thursday 9/30/10 - "STRETCH" - Theme Thursday

THEME THURSDAY

(Stretch)

"STRETCH"

My muscles sing in harmony when I gently stretch them. It relieves the tension built up within the fibers. I can visualize the bunched up muscles relaxing and smoothing out. They are happy and grateful I have taken the time to stretch them one by one.

Today I challenged my mind by reading and listening to information that was new to me. It required me to keep an open mind, formulate questions, concentrate on the answers and stretch my understanding. When I use my brain in this way my consciousness expands. It feels good.

I sit at this computer searching for inspiration for a blog. Every time I write a poem, a story, just my thoughts or string pictures together, I am stretching my creativity.

My soul sings when I take the time to stretch my spiritual muscles. Reading and reflecting on spiritual material opens the channel between myself and my Higher Power. Sitting in silence as I reflect and allowing my thoughts to flow as I journal strengthens my connection with God. The result is a sense of peace, well-being and a knowing that all is well.

Hurray! Hurray! Hurray for stretching!

"IRRESISTIBLE"

She was a person who didn't normally like scents on men. She liked a man's smell to be "au naturel". She thought their colognes often smelled too sweet, too much like machine oil or just plain "too too" something......

One day she found herself in a local art gallery strolling slowly by each painting. As she stood in front of one near the end of the furthest aisle she noticed herself sniffing, smelling the air. There was a pleasing, appealing aroma near her. It caught her fancy.

Without turning her head, she peeked out the corner of her eye. Just to her right and slightly behind her stood a tall, dark and handsome man. Being uncharacteristically bold she turned and asked, "What is that exotic scent?"

As the words left her mouth she remembered from her youth the ad slogan: "YOU CAN ALWAYS TELL AN AQUA VELVA MAN". (She didn't like the smell of Aqua Velva.)

He replied in a smooth, low voice, "Acqua Di Parma". Then he added, "Just for you".

The boulders one atop another stood sentinel to the field, basking in the sunlight.

Her stroll took her into this meadow never walked before.

She saw it. Imagination ran. Had beautiful celestial beings left this here? Someone's passion marked this spot in memory of lost love?

She sat by the stones warmed by the sun.

Thursday 9/16/10 - "REVEALED" - Theme Thursday

THEME THURSDAY

(Reveal)

"REVEALED"

Confusion, difficulty, pain splashed intermittently with ecstasy
Created the perfect painted descriptive canvas of her life
And there up in one small corner of that scene - her spirit appeared
And it crashed and burned to ashes on the ground

From down within those smoldering cinders came
Etched straight and strong in ever rising rungs
A ladder stretching to the upper frame and out
Beyond the borders of her painted life itself

Then there beside the lowest rung emerged
A golden chest - sparkling brilliantly like the sun
And also from those embers burning still
Her soul emerged again, anew

With caution and with measured reach
The lifted lid REVEALED within
Unseen instructions written not in ink
But gently grasped in spirit sounds and signs

They said: Arise now sweetest soul of Mine
From the wreckage of your life
And begin your journey yet again
With foot placed firmly on that lowest bar

Let nothing hold that other foot to earth
But with patience, prayer and practice sure
Ascend one simple single step by step
And "I" will guide your transformation pure
