This is just a temporary "Goodbye". I made a personal executive decision to leave my computer at home. I want to devote 100% of my time, mind and spirit to events as they unfold during our trip to the International Alcoholics Anonymous Convention in San Antonio, Texas. I'll return to blogging when I get back.
We'll be leaving at the crack of dawn tomorrow and will be in Houston tomorrow night. We hope to meet a couple of bloggers there.
Wednesday we'll drive to San Antonio where we will participate with the maybe 50,000+ other recovering people at the convention. This will be a first for me and I am excited.
Our return flight is Monday, July 5th which just happens to be my 25th AA Anniversary. Hurray! Hurray! I'll be "flying high" that day. :)
God bless, Prayer Girl

Life on a deserted island sounds good, but I need others.
My prescription for living life with people:
Memorize, meditate on the "Serenity Prayer". Mind my own business. Keep the focus on myself; my shortcomings, my spiritual growth. Forgive often. Create straight, strong boundaries with smooth, soft edges. Do the next right thing. Pray ceaselessly.

I see you here in fractured points of light That plays across these blossoms bright There in complexity of shades and hues Is captured the exquisite perfection of you Highlighting the flawless beauties trapped within Unmarred by storms or whirling winds
And now I am transported back Into an eternal sea of love I lack Yet resonates within my soul so well It fills my heart to overflowing swell I cast myself with deep abandon here Into the reassuring arms of God, I shed a tear
Now in the delicate traces soft of morning dew I smell the sweetest essences of you I cannot grasp what stirs within my spirit With each breath as in this silence I now sit Being touched into eternity by this love Whose strength defies reality - from above
I reach to gently touch the softest grasses round In this hushed and quiet solitude I've found Through my hands now rings the pulse of life Transforming into peace all sense of strife I close my eyes, allow this love full rein To fill my every space, erase all worldly pain
My ears mute out the sounds that surround me here Tune inward, outward to farthest stretch, I hear Music mysterious like magic notes of angel harps Piercing deep my innermost substance sharp Freezing me in timeless beauty still From where I never would return by will
Here to this eternal place of endless rest I will repair, allowing God to bring the best That can be shared with all who are beloved Renewing those who feel unloved These moments like a prayer to me May they touch your heart and set you free

It took a full minute of watching this video for me to begin smiling. As I continued to watch my smile grew and grew until finally tears filled my eyes. By the end, my heart was overflowing with love for God and you.
I am so grateful that I am capable of focusing enough to appreciate the beauty of what happens and able to feel the emotions it stirs in me.
Please take the time to give yourself this gift. Watch and listen here.
If you have seen it before, enjoy it again.

Shepherd Me, O God, beyond my wants and fears. I long for a Northern summer home away from the tropical heat waves. Wouldn't it be fabulous to roam Paris, Luxembourg and Rome? Between my passions and reality lie rising costs, dwindling resources and anxious concerns for loved ones. This sometimes lost lamb needs a shepherd.

I'm sober in AA since July 5th 1985, and a grateful member of Alanon since November 2004.
I joined the "blogosphere" in September, 2008.
In December 2011 I became a grandmother for the first time and now understand why it's such a big deal. I'm wildly in love again with that little guy.
